Time: Cloverfield Review
OH
MY GOD OH MY GOD!!! These words kick Paramount's
Cloverfield into high gear folks and that
is exactly what this movie is, HIGH GEAR!
AFC Reviews the 2007 Summer Blockbuster
which is on it's way to DVD. And don't forget
to check out HasbroToysShop.com for their
exclusive Cloverfield Monster!
This one certainly doesn't
start in high gear Figure Fans. We start
off super slow with a celebration and quick
cuts of an old home movie. First impression
is "well, where's the monster?"
Be patient. It's coming.
First it feels like an
earthquake, then the head of the statue
of liberty comes crashing by your front
door! From there it's all out madness as
our heroes attempt to escape New York City
and get the heck away from the monstrous
Clover!
The movie is extremely
well done, and very original in the sense
that it appears to be a video found by the
government after clean up of a "classified"
event which takes place in New York City,
NY. There are no credits, no crazy camera
pans and zooms, but there is plenty of action
and story to keep you sitting on the edge
of your seat.
The end of the movie leaves
a little to be desired, but the door is
open for a sequel and we hope that sequel
becomes a reality!
Cloverfield is a thrill
ride from (almost) the start to the very
end. The monster is awesome and truly unique.
The actors do a terrific job working with
nothing but green screen at times (you really
have to check out the documentaries!). It's
a masterpiece and a sure future classic
monster movie.
