NFL 3-Packs Return To Toys R Us

From Spawn.com: McFarlane Toys debuted our NFL 3-packs with four sets (Giants, Steelers, Patriots and Cowboys) exclusive to Toys 'R' Us stores in 2006. The sets were a hit with new collectors who may have missed their first opportunity to grab some of the players, and also with established collectors who seized the opportunity to pick up unique uniform options for four players (Hines Ward, Drew Bledsoe, Tedy Bruschi & Corey Dillon), updated logos for two Giants (Tiki Barber & Michael Strahan), and Sports Picks debuts for Plaxico Burress and Joey Porter. NHL Legends 5 Photography

From Spawn.com: Our NHL Legends 5 lineup features three of the NHL's all-time greatest players in uniforms that appeal to diehard hockey fans and Sports Picks collectors. BOBBY ORR became a household name through a decade in Boston, but his final games in the NHL were spent with the Chicago Blackhawks. WAYNE GRETZKY's legend was built in Edmonton, before he revitalized California hockey with the Kings -- but he spent 31 games as a Blue in 1996, when St. Louis fell one goal shy of the Western Conference Finals. BOBBY HULL will forever be remembered as a Chicago Blackhawk, but he scored 307 goals for the Winnipeg Jets, shepherding them through the WHA and into the NHL. These three players are represented in those unique jerseys, saluting the teams and cities they spent a little time in, while Montreal's GUY LaFLEUR is showcased in his Canadiens uniform, which he wore for 14 glorious seasons. NHL Legends 5 is due in stores late this September. Until then, enjoy the photography. Go here for more NHL Legends 5 images.

A Lifetime of Star Wars by Gil Mikita
A long time ago in a hospital not all that far from where I am writing this right now, I was born just under a month after Star Wars was released in theaters on May 25th 1977. Now that I have dated myself I can get on with the point of my editorial. It's not often I write these messages, but today is a special day in the history of Pop Culture and my own personal life. I guess you could call me a Star Wars Child, notice how I didn't say Star Child. From the moment I was born Star Wars was part of my life. It was the very first movie I can remember seeing when I was still just a little guy, they are the first toys I remember playing with and buying in the stores (well, Mom and Dad bought them for me back then). Star Wars has always been one of the constants in my life and this year I also turn 30 along with Star Wars. Continue for the full article..

There will also be a 501st Legion R2-KT figure and a Shadow Scout on Speeder Bike as well. And finally for the Battlestar Galactica fans out there Hasbro will have a Titanium vehicle 3-pack. Hope that's enough for you! Keep in mind, these all aren't 100% confirmed just yet, so things can change. The information provided here has been gathered from various sources (or the rumor-mill), so do take it with a grain of salt. More to come!

We will be producing two different versions in the original paint scheme. 'LOST' Series 3 Announcement
From Spawn.com: In response to the new, abbreviated season on ABC's LOST, McFarlane Toys has adjusted the release date of the LOST Series 3 action figures. Originally scheduled to hit stores October 2007, the line's release is now scheduled to coincide with the television premier of LOST's fourth season in 2008. 'LOST' Series 2 action figures will be in stores this summer, and a new online feature is in the works. Go here for the series 1 feature on Spawn.com.

McFarlane Action Figures To Sport New Packaging

From Spawn.com: In an effort to make our toys more retailer-friendly, our new packaging department spent the early part of the year working on streamlining our somewhat standard clamshell packaging. They wanted to allow the packaging to reveal more of the figure, while providing more information in a smaller overall footprint. The reduction in the overall footprint will allow us to squeeze an extra "stripe" into some stores, or possibly get a solo stripe into a store that doesn't currently carry our product. We'll debut the new packaging this summer. The first Sports Picks line to feature the new packaging will be NFL Legends 3, but we'll be "testing" it at Colorado Wal-Mart stores with a limited re-release of our original John Elway figure from NFL Legends 1. Here's a look at the Elway re-run figure in our new streamlined packaging. The figure itself is the exact same one we released three years ago, but the packaging has changed radically. For you diehard collectors, we will be offering a few hundred of these Elway figures in our physical and online stores later in the summer. Here's a look at the Elway figure, and some comparison shots with previous products so you can compare scale.

McFarlane Toys Featured on 'CSI' Season Finale
From Spawn.com: McFarlane action figures are set to appear on the #1 rated television show worldwide, CSI - Crime Scene Investigation. For the entire season, the CSI team has been searching for a killer who makes a miniature replica of the scene in which the bodies of his victims are to be found, along with a doll that resembles each victim - and McFarlane action figures are key to this storyline. In the season finale, scheduled to air on Thursday, May 17 the "miniature killer" is exposed after a doll of a victim is found among McFarlane Toys action figures. "We jumped at the chance to have our toys featured on CSI," says McFarlane Toys CEO Todd McFarlane. "It’s only natural that if you look into the mind of a serial killer, you’d find something... off. Something disturbing. One thing we pride ourselves on is the deadly accuracy of our action figures. Combine that attention to detail with some of the darker subject matter we have been known to tackle, and we seem to make the perfect fit for the storyline they have been developing all season." CSI - Crime Scene Investigation airs on Thursdays at 9PM EST/PST. Check out cbs.com/primetime/csi/ for more information.
